Vanessa Ruiz

Vanessa Ruiz

Hi everyone! My name is Vanessa and I will be one of your lecture ambassadors, and a lab TA. I took the class Summer 2023. One tip I have for students is to PLEASE watch the videos and take notes before coming to class. The purpose of lecture is to build on top of the knowledge you gained from the videos as we will focus on comprehension of the material through iclickers and critical thinking questions. Missing a video or two happens as life happens but be sure to catch up as soon as possible to avoid a pile up. If you need any help do not hesitate to reach out to me, any of your other ambassadors, or Dr. Benaduce 🙂 Good luck!

Brenda Mendez

Brenda Mendez

Hi everyone! My name is Brenda and I will be one of your lecture ambassadors, and a lab TA. I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Anatomy can be overwhelming if you don’t study seriously from day one and make sure you understand the concept by making connections. I recommend studying with spaced repetition and active recall as often as possible. Be curious and enjoy the learning process! Any questions you have doubts on or get wrong is an opportunity to learn. Invest in your education by putting in the effort!

Andoni Mercado

Andoni Mercado

Hello everyone! My name is Andoni and I will be one of your lecture ambassadors and lab TA. I took the class Summer 2023 and my tip is to find a friend in the class to practice with. That way you can quiz and also teach each other which we know is very helpful for learning. A new language is easier to learn when you can practice with someone. Good luck!

Abraham Alonso

Abraham Alonso

You may call me Abe. I will be one of your lecture ambassadors and lab TA. I took the class Spring 2024. Helpful tip: Spaced repetition!

Isabella Molliex

Isabella Molliex

I took the class Fall 2024. One helpful tip for the class is reading the witty tips from Dr. Benaduce’s notes especially when having a hard time applying certain topics or coming up with useful ways to understand/remember them! 🙂

Reynado Bruzos

Hi guys, I’m Rey. My tip for you is that on top of taking notes (or instead), read the puzzle pieces/watch the videos and as you do so, make flashcards on Anki as you go. It’s much easier to do flashcards anywhere and any time to help with your active recall than taking out your notes and just passively reading. That’s how I did it over Summer A in 6 weeks and got an A in lab and lecture 💅🤏🏻 if you need help or want productivity tips, please feel free to come up to me at any time 🙂

Melanie Valdes

Melanie Valdes

I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Watch and read the puzzle pieces ahead of class, and if your not able to, listen to it like its your music playlist when you drive to class! Your brain will retain something from the video, and its better than coming unprepared! 🙂

Ashley Soto

I took the class in Fall 2025. Helpful tip: when taking handwritten notes make sure you’re putting it into your own words and not just copying from the video or the PowerPoint. This will really help you retain the information and have a better understanding. Another helpful tip that really worked for me was actively labeling anatomy structures. After watching a lecture video, I would take a screenshot of the anatomy image being discussed and label each structure from memory without looking back at the PowerPoint. This really helped reinforce the material and improve retention.

Maria Fundora

Hello! I'm Maria Fundora and I took this class Fall 2025. My helpful tip is to always study ahead of lecture! Setting time aside and watching Dr. Benaduce's videos ensures that you will be able to follow along in lecture!

Daiana White

Hi everyone! My name is Dayana White and I took the class Spring 2024. A helpful tip that I have is to take handwritten notes and to always practice what you are learning. It really helped me when I explain the topics to others and practice active recall. Best of luck and always remember that we are here to help you!

Christopher Garcia

Christopher Garcia

I’m Christopher García and I took the class Fall 2025. My personal tip is to take handwritten notes from the lecture videos before every class and stay consistent. Make sure to read the Puzzle Pieces after the corresponding lecture and, most importantly, before each exam. Attending lab recitations is essential for helpful tips and a deeper understanding of both the lab and lecture material. Putting consistent time and effort into studying for this course will always pay off in your performance and achievements.

Madisyn Cartaya

Madisyn Cartaya

I took the class Spring 2025. Helpful Tip: Make sure to take full advantage of all the resources and materials that Dr. Benaduce has! The resources are there for a reason and I can’t stress enough how useful they are! USE THEM!

Alejandra Hinojosa

Alessandra Hinojosa

I took this class in Spring 2025. A good tip is to watch the lecture videos and go through the puzzle pieces beforehand so you get a feel for what will be covered in class. I personally enjoyed creating quizlet flashcards from the puzzle pieces and it was super helpful when it came to reviewing each video. Also, don’t wait until the last minute to study, review a little bit every day for a few hours to keep it fresh.

Nicole Barany

Nicole Barany

I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: When you’re taking this course, make sure to watch all the videos and take good notes. After that, try reading the textbook to really reinforce what you’ve learned. If you do not have time to read it before class, try to do it after class or before the exams. It helped me a lot when I took the class! The class might feel a little overwhelming at first, but don’t stress—everyone figures it out. Anatomy is such an amazing subject, and Dr. Benaduce makes it super easy to follow and really interesting. You’ve got this!

Kamilah Cespedes

Kamilah Cespedes

I took the class in Spring 2025. Helpful tip: Using a spaced repetition app like Gizmos to create flashcards on the content can help you remember the material more effectively.

Luis Hernandez

Luis Hernandez

I took the class Fall 2024. Tip: A tip that I can give that I feel like helped me the most while taking this class is when watching the videos, take really good notes. Write down every detail so when the exam comes around, you wont have to stress about rewatching every video to make sure you have everything. Then before the exam, read the notes as many times until you feel confident with the material.

Ronnie Garbayo

Ronnie Garbayo

Hello everyone, my name is Ronnie, and I took this course in the Summer of 2025. The best advice I can give you is to watch the videos. It is very important to be prepared before each class. If you are not able to take notes to bring to each lecture, the least you can do is watch the videos. However, if you can and have the time, I highly recommend taking notes. Lastly, remember that no question is a dumb question - always ask, and never leave with doubts. Good luck!

Ingrid Casanas-Ibarra

Ingrid Casanas-Ibarra

I took the class Spring 2025. Helpful Tip: Study a little each day to stay on top of the material. Reviewing with a study group can be really helpful, as explaining concepts to others reinforces your understanding. Don’t be afraid to create silly memory tricks, they really work! You’ve got this!

Rafael Garcia Guerra

Rafael Garcia Guerra

Hello everyone! I took the lecture in Spring of 2025. My two recommendations are to watch the videos multiple times and GO TO HAPPY HOURS! Use the models and ask questions.

Alejandro Garcia

Alejandro Garcia

I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: Extremely important to make study groups!!! It helps having a consistent study group so you can quiz each other and clear up anything you’re confused on. Meet up once a week to review what you’ve covered. Reading the puzzle pieces also helped me a lot and was quicker than watching the videos.

Mauricio Montero

Mauricio Montero

I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: It’s much more effective to study a little each day than to cram everything in one sitting. Small, consistent effort will really add up. Don’t get discouraged if a topic feels overwhelming—it’s normal! Just keep putting in the work, and you’ll see progress. Most importantly, enjoy the process and appreciate the fascinating complexity of anatomy!

Obel Cabrera

Obel Cabrera

I took the class in Summer 2025. My advice would be to always do both: watch the videos and read the puzzle pieces before coming to class, and then really pay attention and engage in lecture because it will really help you iron out those concepts that you weren’t able to fully get on your own and will also help you apply your prior knowledge in interesting and useful ways. I would also recommend that you get to know your classmates and make study groups and discuss the contents of the class with each other. Happy hours are the perfect time for this. Other than that, remember to stay consistent and enjoy your time in the class, and I promise that you will succeed!

Alex Murillo

Alex Murillo

Hey yall, my name is Alex Murillo. I took this course in the summer of 2025. One thing I cannot recommend enough is not to be afraid to ask questions and make mistakes. Dr. Benaduce and the AA's are here to help you, not hurt you. Moreover, if you can, I would highly recommend that you attend happy hours. When studying or reviewing the material, it is very convenient and helpful to have the AA's there to answer any questions or clear up any misunderstandings.

Ufomba Kamalu

Ufomba Kamalu

And for the tip: Always share your questions and answers with your ambassadors and your classmates. Explaining your reasoning is important as well. You never know which part of your reasoning might be wrong and how your explanation might help another classmate.

Ulises Sanchez

Ulises Sanchez

Hi, My name is Ulises Sanchez and i took Anatomy with professor Benaduce in Spring 2025. Tip: Learn the lab material just as well as the Lecture and it will help you figure out problems on exams using contextual knowledge.

Harry Echevarria

Harry Echevarria

Hello! My name is Harry Echevarria and I took this class in spring of 2025. My tip to you would be to not wait until the last minute to watch the lecture video. Try to watch it bit by bit throughout the week. If you leave it for last minute, you’ll find yourself just trying to skim through quickly just to say you finished it, and you won’t actually process the information as well.

Patricia Fernandez

Patricia Fernandez

Hi everyone! My name is Patricia and I took the class Spring 2025. A helpful tip is to always come to class prepared by watching and taking notes of the lecture video beforehand. It is super important to come to class with some understanding of the content, that way you can actively participate in the lecture and class activities to reinforce your knowledge or to solidify the content you still don't understand. Come to class with a positive attitude towards learning, it all starts from within! I hope you have a wonderful semester 🙂

Gabriel Rodriguez

Gabriel Rodriguez

Tip: Make sure to watch the lecture videos the day before class and the morning of the class, this helps you to review content! Also, use the practice quizzes on the lab practices to help you recall the name of anatomical structures it will make your life a lot easier instead of having to manually create flashcards!

Roselin Frias

Roselin Frias

Hey everyone! My name is Rosi and I will be one of your lecture ambassadors for Fall 2025. I took the class Summer 2024 and my tip to help you be successful is to review the content in some form before coming to class. It was very helpful to me when I was a student to use the lecture time to review information instead of learning it for the first time.

Eddie Urena

Eddie Urena

Watch the lecture videos!! Watch them and make sure to write down any points where there was a lot of information and then go back and write notes about those parts to make sure you understand them.vv

Mario Napolilli

When I was taking anatomy, I found the videos helpful to understanding the ideas while also drawing out the structures. It helped me to focus on what was being said and on the finer details of the systems covered.

Andrea Mora

Tip: I took the class Fall 2025 and I strongly recommend watching all the videos before class and taking detailed notes, that way you know what will be covered in class and get a chance to clarify some information you might need!

Silvana Theilkuhl

Silvana Theilkuhl

My name is Silvana Theilkuhl and I'm super excited to get to be an ambassador this semester, so thank you for choosing me! My tip to succeed in anatomy is to write down the questions asked in class and test yourself on those later as well as to stay on top of all the lab stations of the week because they can really help you solidify and recall the information from lecture.

Daniela Plata Vega

I took this class in Fall 2025. My biggest tip is to always come prepared with your own handwritten notes and to review the witty tips regularly. Make connections between the material covered in the lecture and what you cover in lab, as this is extremely beneficial. Take full advantage of all the resources provided and try to avoid falling behind. While the class may seem overwhelming at first, don’t stress. Everyone can succeed, and Dr. Benaduce truly makes learning enjoyable.

Yen Vy Van

Hello everyone! My name is Yen Vy. I took Human Anatomy in fall 2025. I’m so excited to meet you all and get to know you as the semester progresses! This class is challenging, but it's also rewarding. My tip for success in this class is to watch the videos or read the puzzle pieces before class. This way, you’ll understand the topics discussed in class, and you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions. Another tip is to do the puzzle piece questions at least twice: once before you review to find which topics you need to focus on, and again after revision, this helps with targeted review before each exam. Spaced repetition and active recall is the key! And remember, “FAIL” does not automatically mean "Failure;" it means "First Attempt In Learning." If one method doesn’t work for you, try another one until you find your flow! You can do this! I believe in you!

Emily Moya

Emily Moya

Hello everyone! My name is Emily and I took the class Fall 2025. Something that helped me be successful when I took this course was active recall. I’d pop-quiz myself on topics as I went along my day. It's helpful to study a little bit every day. Also, make sure you take handwritten notes! I always made little drawing/simple diagrams in my notes to help me understand. Try to explain concepts and make connections in your own words.

Kelly Van

Hello Everyone! My name is Kelly. I took Human Anatomy in Fall 2025. My tip for the students is to watch the lecture videos prior to attending class and taking notes while watching them. This will be helpful when you answer questions within the lecture time slot and justify your answer choice. This will be a great way to get used to the style of the exam questions. Another tip is to try studying with a partner, sometimes you can bounce off information with each other, like sharing tips on how to remember the information. As long as you are stay on top of the content, you will succeed in this course. Good luck!

Adriana Cruz Ayala

I took Human Anatomy in fall 2025. Tip: Always make sure to watch the videos ahead of lecture and do the puzzle questions to review. Be sure to study all the lab sections for each week. Both of these strategies make studying for tests and midterms much easier.

Yousef Morad

Yousef Morad,

Hello everyone! My name is Yousef Morad, I took Human Anatomy in Fall 2025 and my tip would be to make use of all your resources. Every resource you will have access to this semester will be effective in helping you understand the content. What worked for me was taking handwritten notes on the lecture videos, cross referencing with the puzzle pieces, and connect ideas from the lab!

George Penaloza

Hi everyone, my name is George and I took this course in Fall 2025. My personal tip is to take advantage of all of the resources you have to prepare: Watch the lecture videos and take detailed handwritten notes based on them (numerous times if needed), reach out to your ambassadors, and attend Happy Hours as much as possible to ask questions and observe the models for yourself. These tools will help you integrate both lecture and lab content, as well as understand the content better. Good luck.
