Hi everyone! My name is Pierre and I will be one of your lecture and lab ambassadors, and a lab TA. I took the class Summer 2022. My advice for this class is to treat the lecture and the lab as one so that you can form stronger connections regarding the function and location of the different structures. You will notice that unlike other courses, the lecture and lab go hand in hand. Also, go to Happy Hours! Dr. Benaduce and some of us will always be there to help with anything you need. Good luck!
Hello everyone! My name is Andoni and I will be one of your lecture and lab TA. I took the class Summer 2023 and my tip is to find a friend in the class to practice with. That way you can quiz and also teach each other which we know is very helpful for learning. A new language is easier to learn when you can practice with someone. Good luck!
Hi everyone! My name is Vanessa and I will be one of your lecture ambassadors, and a lab TA. I took the class Summer 2023. One tip I have for students is to PLEASE watch the videos and take notes before coming to class. The purpose of lecture is to build on top of the knowledge you gained from the videos as we will focus on comprehension of the material through iclickers and critical thinking questions. Missing a video or two happens as life happens but be sure to catch up as soon as possible to avoid a pile up. If you need any help do not hesitate to reach out to me, any of your other ambassadors, or Dr. Benaduce 🙂 Good luck!
You may call me Abe. I took the class Spring 2024. Helpful tip: Spaced repetition!
I took the class Fall 2024. One helpful tip for the class is reading the witty tips from Dr. Benaduce’s notes especially when having a hard time applying certain topics or coming up with useful ways to understand/remember them! 🙂
I took the class Summer 2023. Tip: Don’t fall behind, and do your best to be exposed to the material at least once before arriving to class. I know that life happens and things get in the way but your future self will thank you if you take your hand written notes before class!
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Watch and read the puzzle pieces ahead of class, and if your not able to, listen to it like its your music playlist when you drive to class! Your brain will retain something from the video, and its better than coming unprepared! 🙂
I took the class Summer A 2024. My tip for everyone is flashcards, flashcards, flashcards. Cannot stress enough how putting the puzzle pieces into an AI flash card maker helped.
I took the class Fall 2023. Tip: If you’re ever unsure or are struggling in class due to any unforeseen circumstance, do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Benaduce or any of the LAs for help or advice. We are all here to support you and your success in learning. Asking for help doesn’t make us weak 🙂
I took the class Spring 2023. Best tip is to use Anki so you do not forget any of the content learned throughout the semester.
I took the class Fall 2024. My best tip is READ THE BOOK. It has all the information needed to succeed and much more, it also has lots of Witty tips that helped me understand the most complicated material.
I took the class Fall 2024. Tip: don’t memorize just to memorize, understand why and how things work the way they do. That will help you to remember instead of just memorizing a bunch of terms that aren’t really connected in your brain.
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful tip: take your time reading and watching the videos to get a complete understanding of the material.
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: When you’re taking this course, make sure to watch all the videos and take good notes. After that, try reading the textbook to really reinforce what you’ve learned. If you do not have time to read it before class, try to do it after class or before the exams. It helped me a lot when I took the class! The class might feel a little overwhelming at first, but don’t stress—everyone figures it out. Anatomy is such an amazing subject, and Dr. Benaduce makes it super easy to follow and really interesting. You’ve got this!
I took the class Spring 2024. Tips: * Watch the videos and read the puzzle pieces with time in advance! You can divide the content between multiple days to ensure enough time to grasp the information and take handwritten notes! * Re-watch the videos prior to the exams while reading your notes in case there are any topics that you may have needed clarification on in order to reinforce what you do/do not know.
I took the class Fall 2024. Tip: A tip that I can give that I feel like helped me the most while taking this class is when watching the videos, take really good notes. Write down every detail so when the exam comes around, you wont have to stress about rewatching every video to make sure you have everything. Then before the exam, read the notes as many times until you feel confident with the material.
I took the class Fall 2023. Helpful Tip: Make sure you’re always caught up with your notes. Doing a little bit every day is better than cramming! Also, form study groups and go to Happy Hours to ensure you do well in the class! Another tip: at the end of the semester, make sure to go back and rewatch the tissues lecture 😀
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Even if you feel lost or that you’ve fallen behind, don’t worry you’re not alone. Just keep going!
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Take advantage of the resources on Inspired to Learn by reviewing the videos and puzzle pieces multiple times until all the information is absorbed. Also, going back and rewriting the information after lectures helped me gain a better understanding on the material. I encourage students to engage and dedicate time to studying as it will not only help them understand the course material better but help them gain confidence in themselves. Anatomy can seem overwhelming but if you put effort into this course and learn from the mistakes you may make along the way your success is inevitable.
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Come to class prepare by watching the videos or reading the chapter. In my case helped me a lot watching the videos and taking notes from it, if you do that plus going to every class you will be getting 80% of the material, so when the exam comes you already have a big part of the content in your brain.
I took the class Summer A 2024. My 3 tips for being successful in this class would be: 1. Pay close attention to everything Dr. Benaduce says during lecture. She provides all the information and resources you need to succeed. Take advantage of this - your effort can either make the class very easy or very challenging. 2. While digital note-taking is super popular (I also do it), handwriting your notes helps you retain the information so much better. It’s a little bit pain and takes longer, but the end result is so worth it. 3. Being proactive is key. This class covers a lot of information. If you feel yourself falling behind, make the necessary adjustments early and if you’re unsure how to adjust, don’t hesitate to reach out - we’re all more than happy to help.
I took the class Spring 2024. Helpful Tip: WRITE WRITE WRITE!! Even when your notes are “done”, writing what you remember (active recall) will help you solidify it in your long term memory better than just thinking/saying it loud! Make lists and charts for every puzzle piece and challenge yourself to write them from memory when studying.
I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: Extremely important to make study groups!!! It helps having a consistent study group so you can quiz each other and clear up anything you’re confused on. Meet up once a week to review what you’ve covered. Reading the puzzle pieces also helped me a lot and was quicker than watching the videos.
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Come prepared to class with your hand written notes! (It helps more than you think).
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Show up to every class prepared and on time (I didn't follow it perfectly myself and with the more reason I can say how much missing class can impact the learning process). Another helpful tip is to find classmates that you can count on to have study sessions and help each other fill in the gaps. I had a group of 5 people to bounce questions off each other and motivate each other and it was really helpful.
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: It’s much more effective to study a little each day than to cram everything in one sitting. Small, consistent effort will really add up. Don’t get discouraged if a topic feels overwhelming—it’s normal! Just keep putting in the work, and you’ll see progress. Most importantly, enjoy the process and appreciate the fascinating complexity of anatomy!
I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: The best advice I can give is “frequency and repetition” a day or two before class I would watch the lecture videos and take notes, next show up to class and participate, that same day I would later review the notes I took and compare them to the online book in case I missed any important information in the corresponding chapter.
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Make detailed flashcards and practice them diligently and daily!
I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: I succeed in anatomy by teaching my friends and family what I was learning. I also would play the lectures while driving and in the gym!
I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: Stay consistent with studying and an easy way to do that is to watch the videos as many times as you can before lecture (even while you're doing other things like cleaning or driving), and after class review the content learned that day!
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Prepare for each lecture by watching the videos beforehand. When studying for the exam, review all the videos again! You can even rewrite your notes again! This helped me retain the information better and check which topics I needed to learn more on!
I took the class Spring 2024. Helpful Tip: Form a study group and take turns teaching each other the material.
I took the class Spring 2024. Helpful Tip: I strongly recommend taking detailed notes on all lecture videos before class, as everything in class builds upon this foundational knowledge. However, if you can’t or taking notes doesn’t suit your learning style, make sure to watch the lecture videos more than once - they are your lifeline.
I took the class Fall 2023. Helpful Tip: Lock in!
I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: Form study groups and take turns teaching each other the material. Regularly go over the weekly material and any related concepts, so when it's test time, you have less to cram. Good notes and the videos are going to save your life. Good luck 🙂
I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: I recommend to take 30 minute breaks every 1 hour of study to distract yourself doing what you enjoy. If you do this and return back to studying you can test yourself to see if you retain the information.
I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: Use visual learning, active recall, and group study. Studying in a group helps fill in gaps. Don’t forget to attend Happy Hours! You got this!
I took the class Summer 2020. Helpful Tip: Do a little bit every single day! You need to start early on and build a routine. It doesn’t have to be much, but just 15 minutes to 30 minutes of studying or watching the videos and taking notes every day will help you cover all the material without feeling burnt out or exhausted from the amount. Remember learning anatomy is like learning a new language that all healthcare professionals will be using and to learn a new language you need to practice every single day so start early in the semester and build a routine you will thank yourself later. I have more helpful tips if you want feel free to come to happy hours or ask me during the lecture for some more we are all here to help you be successful in the human anatomy course but you have to do your part.
