Vanessa Ruiz
Hi everyone! My name is Vanessa and I will be one of your lecture ambassadors, and a lab TA. I took the class Summer 2023. One tip I have for students is to PLEASE watch the videos and take notes before coming to class. The purpose of lecture is to build on top of the knowledge you gained from the videos as we will focus on comprehension of the material through iclickers and critical thinking questions. Missing a video or two happens as life happens but be sure to catch up as soon as possible to avoid a pile up. Hi everyone! My name is Brenda and I will be one of your lecture ambassadors, and a lab TA. I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Anatomy can be overwhelming if you don’t study seriously from day one and make sure you understand the concept by making connections. I recommend studying with spaced repetition and active recall as often as possible. Be curious and enjoy the learning process! Any questions you have doubts on or get wrong is an opportunity to learn. Invest in your education by putting in the effort!

That way you can quiz and also teach each other which we know is very helpful for learning. A new language is easier to learn when you can practice with someone. Good luck!

I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Watch and read the puzzle pieces ahead of class, and if your not able to, listen to it like its your music playlist when you drive to class! Your brain will retain something from the video, and its better than coming unprepared! 🙂

I took the class in Fall 2024. My tip is always come prepared to class with your OWN handwritten notes whether there from the book or the videos. They go a long way especially when you start studying for the exams. Don't be afraid to ask questions either!

I took this class in spring 2025, and I’m excited to help out. Helpful tip: take notes during the videos and lectures to stay on top of the material. When exams come around, review those notes and quiz yourself to reinforce what you’ve learned. I also used a website called PurposeGames. It has free anatomy games that make studying more fun and interactive.

I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: When you’re taking this course, make sure to watch all the videos and take good notes. After that, try reading the textbook to really reinforce what you’ve learned. If you do not have time to read it before class, try to do it after class or before the exams. It helped me a lot when I took the class! The class might feel a little overwhelming at first, but don’t stress—everyone figures it out. Anatomy is such an amazing subject, and Dr. Benaduce makes it super easy to follow and really interesting. You’ve got this!

You can divide the content between multiple days to ensure enough time to grasp the information and take handwritten notes! * Re-watch the videos prior to the exams while reading your notes in case there are any topics that you may have needed clarification on in order to reinforce what you do/do not know.

I took the class Fall 2024. Tip: A tip that I can give that I feel like helped me the most while taking this class is when watching the videos, take really good notes. Write down every detail so when the exam comes around, you wont have to stress about rewatching every video to make sure you have everything. Then before the exam, read the notes as many times until you feel confident with the material.

I took the class Fall 2023. Helpful Tip: Make sure you’re always caught up with your notes. Doing a little bit every day is better than cramming! Also, form study groups and go to Happy Hours to ensure you do well in the class! Another tip: at the end of the semester, make sure to go back and rewatch the tissues lecture 😀

I took the class Spring 2025. Helpful Tip: Study a little each day to stay on top of the material. Reviewing with a study group can be really helpful, as explaining concepts to others reinforces your understanding. Don’t be afraid to create silly memory tricks, they really work! You’ve got this!

I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: Extremely important to make study groups!!! It helps having a consistent study group so you can quiz each other and clear up anything you’re confused on. Meet up once a week to review what you’ve covered. Reading the puzzle pieces also helped me a lot and was quicker than watching the videos.

I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: It’s much more effective to study a little each day than to cram everything in one sitting. Small, consistent effort will really add up. Don’t get discouraged if a topic feels overwhelming—it’s normal! Just keep putting in the work, and you’ll see progress. Most importantly, enjoy the process and appreciate the fascinating complexity of anatomy!

I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: Stay consistent with studying and an easy way to do that is to watch the videos as many times as you can before lecture (even while you're doing other things like cleaning or driving), and after class review the content learned that day!

I took the class Spring 2024. Helpful Tip: I strongly recommend taking detailed notes on all lecture videos before class, as everything in class builds upon this foundational knowledge. However, if you can’t or taking notes doesn’t suit your learning style, make sure to watch the lecture videos more than once - they are your lifeline.

I took this course in Spring 2024, and one tip I have for success is to take handwritten notes and explain the concepts out loud to yourself until they really click. Hello everyone I'm Daniel Aguilera, I took this class in the Summer of 2025 and I will be one of your lecture ambasadors for this semeseter My tip to all of you is to study everyday even as basic as it sounds the puzzle pieces and the videos genuinely will save your life especially and don't procrastinate its the worst possible thing for a class like this where all the info is back to back.

Hello everyone, my name is Ronnie, and I took this course in the Summer of 2025. The best advice I can give you is to watch the videos. It is very important to be prepared before each class. If you are not able to take notes to bring to each lecture, the least you can do is watch the videos. However, if you can and have the time, I highly recommend taking notes. Lastly, remember that no question is a dumb question - always ask, and never leave with doubts. Good luck!

I took the class in Summer 2025. My advice would be to always do both: watch the videos and read the puzzle pieces before coming to class, and then really pay attention and engage in lecture because it will really help you iron out those concepts that you weren’t able to fully get on your own and will also help you apply your prior knowledge in interesting and useful ways. I would also recommend that you get to know your classmates and make study groups and discuss the contents of the class with each other. Happy hours are the perfect time for this. Other than that, remember to stay consistent and enjoy your time in the class, and I promise that you will succeed!

Hey yall, my name is Alex Murillo. I took this course in the summer of 2025. One thing I cannot recommend enough is not to be afraid to ask questions and make mistakes. Dr. Benaduce and the AA's are here to help you, not hurt you. Moreover, if you can, I would highly recommend that you attend happy hours. When studying or reviewing the material, it is very convenient and helpful to have the AA's there to answer any questions or clear up any misunderstandings.

Hello everyone! My name is Katharine and I took the class Spring 2025. Helpful Tip: Make sure you dedicate the time to watch every single video and hand write notes while watching the videos. If you try to speed past the videos just to say that you “watched” it, you won’t retain any of the information! Take your time with the videos, take notes, and it’ll all make sense!

And for the tip: Always share your questions and answers with your ambassadors and your classmates. Explaining your reasoning is important as well. You never know which part of your reasoning might be wrong and how your explanation might help another classmate.

Hello! My name is Harry Echevarria and I took this class in spring of 2025. My tip to you would be to not wait until the last minute to watch the lecture video. Try to watch it bit by bit throughout the week. If you leave it for last minute, you’ll find yourself just trying to skim through quickly just to say you finished it, and you won’t actually process the information as well.

Hi everyone! My name is Patricia and I took the class Spring 2025. A helpful tip is to always come to class prepared by watching and taking notes of the lecture video beforehand. It is super important to come to class with some understanding of the content, that way you can actively participate in the lecture and class activities to reinforce your knowledge or to solidify the content you still don't understand. Come to class with a positive attitude towards learning, it all starts from within! I hope you have a wonderful semester 🙂

Tip: Make sure to watch the lecture videos the day before class and the morning of the class, this helps you to review content! Also, use the practice quizzes on the lab practices to help you recall the name of anatomical structures it will make your life a lot easier instead of having to manually create flashcards!

Hi beautiful brains! My name is Chenille Duany, and I took this Anatomy course in spring of 2025. I’ve always loved anatomy so much, because it offers such a fascinating look into the human body, and this course is a great kickstart to a successful future in the health sciences or in general for all students taking it. Some important tips I’d give are to take your time understanding the concepts fully, rather than rushing through the material. It’s extremely helpful for more complex concepts, to have a solid foundation of understanding of the building blocks! Also, make sure to take notes that work best for YOU:), everyone learns differently, and developing your own study style will help you succeed in the course and beyond. As scary or nerve wracking as this course may seem, please know that you will have all the tools and support necessary to succeed, and there is no need to worry or doubt. You are here because your brains work so amazingly, and they will continue to do so throughout this course and in your future. Learning Tip: When I study anatomy, I like to draw the structures out and get every relevant detail on paper. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it helps me to focus on learning the features of a given structure.
