Brenda Mendez

Brenda Mendez

Hi everyone! My name is Brenda and I will be one of your lecture ambassadors, and a lab TA. I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Anatomy can be overwhelming if you don’t study seriously from day one and make sure you understand the concept by making connections. I recommend studying with spaced repetition and active recall as often as possible. Be curious and enjoy the learning process! Any questions you have doubts on or get wrong is an opportunity to learn. Invest in your education by putting in the effort!

Andoni Mercado

Andoni Mercado

Hello everyone! My name is Andoni and I will be one of your lecture and lab TA. I took the class Summer 2023 and my tip is to find a friend in the class to practice with. That way you can quiz and also teach each other which we know is very helpful for learning. A new language is easier to learn when you can practice with someone. Good luck!

Vanessa Ruiz

Vanessa Ruiz

Hi everyone! My name is Vanessa and I will be one of your lecture ambassadors, and a lab TA. I took the class Summer 2023. One tip I have for students is to PLEASE watch the videos and take notes before coming to class. The purpose of lecture is to build on top of the knowledge you gained from the videos as we will focus on comprehension of the material through iclickers and critical thinking questions. Missing a video or two happens as life happens but be sure to catch up as soon as possible to avoid a pile up. If you need any help do not hesitate to reach out to me, any of your other ambassadors, or Dr. Benaduce 🙂 Good luck!

Abraham Alonso

Abraham Alonso

You may call me Abe. I will be one of your lecture ambassadors and lab TA. I took the class Spring 2024. Helpful tip: Spaced repetition!

Isabella Chiang

Isabella Chiang

I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: I succeed in anatomy by teaching my friends and family what I was learning. I also would play the lectures while driving and in the gym!

Carolina Lugo

Carolina Lugo

I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: Hand written notes!!! That is the best way (at least for me) to recall things. Also, listen to the videos like a podcast.

Destiny Pierre

Destiny Pierre

I took the class Spring 2025. Helpful Tip: Take advantage of your resources. I recommend to attend happy hours whether you have questions or you just want a place to study. I also truly recommend studying with friends/groups as they may catch any mistakes you make and vice-versa. Try your best not to let procrastination get the best of you and really prioritize your notes. Lastly, have an open mind! You are capable of more than you think 🙂

Luis Mandina

Luis Mandina

I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Show up to every class prepared and on time (I didn't follow it perfectly myself and with the more reason I can say how much missing class can impact the learning process). Another helpful tip is to find classmates that you can count on to have study sessions and help each other fill in the gaps. I had a group of 5 people to bounce questions off each other and motivate each other and it was really helpful.

Rosali Nodarse

Rosali Nodarse

I took the class Spring 2023. Best tip is to use Anki so you do not forget any of the content learned throughout the semester.

Herene Saint-Clair

Herene Saint-Clair

I took the class Summer A 2025. One of the most important things I learned from this class is that time management is key. The lecture and lab both move quickly and cover a lot of material, so planning ahead and setting aside time to study each week made a huge difference. Breaking the workload into smaller, manageable chunks not only helped me keep up with the pace but also allowed me to retain and apply the information more effectively.

Gabriella Colón

Gabriella Colón

Hi my name is Gabriella Colón! I took anatomy in spring of 2025. My most helpful tip to succeed in this course would be to constantly watch the videos! Dr. Benaduce makes anatomy so easy to understand. Repeatedly watching her videos across multiple days will really solidify your understandings.

Stephanie Espinosa

Stephanie Espinosa

Hey! My name is Stephanie and I took Human Anatomy in Fall of 2024, I'll be one of your lab LA's! My advice would be to believe in yourself and your capabilities, and take things one step at a time. Everything will come together with enough effort and patience.

Julia Lage

Julia Lage

I took the class in Spring 2025. Helpful tip: Make sure to practice space repetition, and use the quizzes to practice for the lab quizzes! You got it 🙂

Alejandra Hinojosa

Alejandra Hinojosa

I took this class in Spring 2025. A good tip is to watch the lecture videos and go through the puzzle pieces beforehand so you get a feel for what will be covered in class. I personally enjoyed creating quizlet flashcards from the puzzle pieces and it was super helpful when it came to reviewing each video. Also, don’t wait until the last minute to study, review a little bit every day for a few hours to keep it fresh.
