Brenda Mendez

Brenda Mendez

Hi everyone! My name is Brenda and I will be one of your lecture ambassadors, and a lab TA. I took the class Fall 2024. Helpful Tip: Anatomy can be overwhelming if you don’t study seriously from day one and make sure you understand the concept by making connections. I recommend studying with spaced repetition and active recall as often as possible. Be curious and enjoy the learning process! Any questions you have doubts on or get wrong is an opportunity to learn. Invest in your education by putting in the effort!

Andoni Mercado

Andoni Mercado

Hello everyone! My name is Andoni and I will be one of your lecture and lab TA. I took the class Summer 2023 and my tip is to find a friend in the class to practice with. That way you can quiz and also teach each other which we know is very helpful for learning. A new language is easier to learn when you can practice with someone. Good luck!

Vanessa Ruiz

Vanessa Ruiz

Hi everyone! My name is Vanessa and I will be one of your lecture ambassadors, and a lab TA. I took the class Summer 2023. One tip I have for students is to PLEASE watch the videos and take notes before coming to class. The purpose of lecture is to build on top of the knowledge you gained from the videos as we will focus on comprehension of the material through iclickers and critical thinking questions. Missing a video or two happens as life happens but be sure to catch up as soon as possible to avoid a pile up. If you need any help do not hesitate to reach out to me, any of your other ambassadors, or Dr. Benaduce 🙂 Good luck!

Abraham Alonso

Abraham Alonso

You may call me Abe. I will be one of your lecture ambassadors and lab TA. I took the class Spring 2024. Helpful tip: Spaced repetition!

Paola Quintana

Hello everyone! My name is Paola Quintana. I will be one of your lab ambassadors. I took the class in the Summer of 2025. My tip to you in order to do well in the course is to watch all the videos for your stations you’re assigned for thoroughly with notes and if possible go over the other stations as well. It is important to study and have the spelling on top when it comes to your stations because not only do you have to make sure you know your anatomy knowledge, you will have to share that knowledge in your mixed groups, so through practice and spaced repetition you will be able to recall the information. As well as, you can always come to happy hours if you need any help. We are here for you! 🙂

Carolina Lugo

Carolina Lugo

I took the class Summer A 2024. Helpful Tip: Hand written notes!!! That is the best way (at least for me) to recall things. Also, listen to the videos like a podcast.

Sebastian Benitez Cure

Sebastian Benitez Cure

Hello, my name is Sebastian. I took the class in Summer 2025 and one helpful tip I can give is to keep up to date with the lecture videos as without them it is easy to get overwhelmed especially when you’re not up to date.

Elizabeth Zaldivar

Elizabeth Zaldivar

I took the class Summer A 2025. Tip: Use the puzzle pieces as your study guides for the test! Read them and place the most important information in flashcards physically or in quizlet.

Stacy Nunez

Hi everyone, my name is Stacy Nunez. I took anatomy in the fall of 2025. I have a tip for you: use all your resources as they are your best friends. Specifically, for the lab, master your lab station first and review all the other stations. This will help you in the long run because it’s necessary for your midterm and final exams. Learning all the stations will help you connect the lab and lecture as you go on."

Herene Saint-Clair

Herene Saint-Clair

I took the class Summer A 2025. One of the most important things I learned from this class is that time management is key. The lecture and lab both move quickly and cover a lot of material, so planning ahead and setting aside time to study each week made a huge difference. Breaking the workload into smaller, manageable chunks not only helped me keep up with the pace but also allowed me to retain and apply the information more effectively.

Sophia Perez

Sophia Perez

Hi everyone! My name is Sophia, and I’ll be one of your lecture ambassadors. I took this course in Spring 2024, and one tip I have for success is to take handwritten notes and explain the concepts out loud to yourself until they really click. After that, get together with a few friends to review the material. Teaching each other is one of the best ways to make the information stick. Wishing you all the best this semester!

Stephanie Espinosa

Stephanie Espinosa

Hey! My name is Stephanie and I took Human Anatomy in Fall of 2024, I'll be one of your lab LA's! My advice would be to believe in yourself and your capabilities, and take things one step at a time. Everything will come together with enough effort and patience.

Julia Lage

Julia Lage

I took the class in Spring 2025. Helpful tip: Make sure to practice space repetition, and use the quizzes to practice for the lab quizzes! You got it 🙂

Anthony Garcia

Anthony Garcia

I took the class Fall 2025. Helpful Tip: Be consistent in reviewing class material and writing paper notes based on the videos and texts on Inspired to Learn to help with iClicker and critical thinking questions in class.

Melanie De La Paz

Melanie De La Paz

I took the class Spring 2025. Welcome to anatomy! I hope this class strengthens your passion for medicine as it did to me! Helpful Tip: All you really need is to believe in yourself and trust the process, even if you fail. You can always get back up again, and you're in great hands here. I believe in you, and I'll hopefully see you out there in the field some day! <3
