I took this class in Spring 2025. A good tip is to watch the lecture videos and go through the puzzle pieces beforehand so you get a feel for what will be covered in class. I personally enjoyed creating quizlet flashcards from the puzzle pieces and it was super helpful when it came to reviewing each video. Also, don’t wait until the last minute to study, review a little bit every day for a few hours to keep it fresh.

A tip from me while taking this class is that although it may sound like something easy to do, repetitive or obvious, don't ever wait for the last day to start learning something whether it is in the lecture, or lab. It is so easy to fall behind with so many things to learn that it can be hard coming back for some. Gianna Alfonso

My biggest tip for students taking Anatomy is to really study before and after every class. There is a lot of information covered in a short amount of time, and it is extremely easy to fall behind. Once you get behind, it can become overwhelming trying to learn new material while also catching up on previous chapters. Investing time outside of class is honestly one of the most important things you can do to be successful. I would recommend reviewing the material before class so you already have an idea of what is going to be discussed. Then, after class, go back over your notes and make sure you actually understand what you learned. Do not wait until a few days before the exam to start studying. Anatomy is not a class where cramming works well because there are so many structures, functions, and concepts that connect to each other. Also, try your best to understand the information instead of just memorizing it for the exam. Use diagrams, label structures, make flashcards, watch videos, and find whatever study method works best for you. If there is something you don't understand, ask questions early instead of waiting until the exam is coming up. Most importantly, remember that if you are planning on going into healthcare, you will definitely see this information again in the future. Learning it now will make future classes and your career much easier. Stay consistent, give yourself enough time to study, and don't get discouraged if a topic takes a little longer to understand. The time you invest outside of class will make a huge difference.

Hello! My name is Jorge and I will be one of your laboratory ambassadors. My tip would be to focus on watching the videos first for whichever section you are reviewing for in lab, then doing the practice quizzes about 10 times. Don't fear if you need to look back at the videos for the first few attempts, you can ease yourself into not requiring them overtime. While doing 10+ reps of practice questions may seem like a lot, it will become faster and faster the more you do them. That's what I personally did and each set of ten usually only took 10-15 minutes.

Hi everyone, my name is Ruben and I will be one of your social media anatomy lab ambassadors for your Fall 2026 semester! My biggest tip to learning and understanding the lab stations was to review the lab station list of terms and clicking each term that links to a video of Dr. Benaduce showing you where that anatomical term is located. While watching the videos, I would also annotate and label the anatomical terms as she goes through each lab station! By going to happy hours, I was also able to improve my confidence in lab station presentations (100% worth it). If you redo the practice quizzes you will also succeed in passing your quizzes in the beginning and end of lab time. As long as you're confident in yourself and put in the effort you will succeed 🙂
